Day 2 – Lost in the Woods

Tonight, our storybook was one that was have on our list of favorites – “Lost in the Woods“. It’s a “photographic fantasy” about a little fawn hiding out in the woods and waiting for his mother to return. We pulled the envelope and read our book while finishing dinner.Lost in the Woods

Later, we were also able to work in our second day of extended read-aloud time as well, covering several chapters in “Tom Sawyer” by Mark Twain. Thus far, Tom has tricked all the boys in town into paying him for the privilege of whitewashing his aunt’s fence, parlayed his winnings into a brand new bible in Sunday school, and professed his love to Becky Thatcher while stuck in “time out” for talking to Huck Finn.
